Clara Bhavan was opened on 6th June in the Moozhoor St. Mary's Parish which comes under Cherpumkal Forane Church. There was only one LP School in the village, Moozhoor. Vicar Rev. Fr. Sebastian Mundumoozhikkara and the parish committee members sensed the need for the presence of the sisters in the parish for the smooth running of the school and its progress, for the activities of the parish, for family visits etc. So they went and requested the Provincial Superior to start a convent and she responded favorably. 25 cents of the church land was given freely for the convent, then 90 cents of land of Madappallimattam family was also purchased to construct the convent, Foundation stone was laid in 1993 the year of the 8th Birth Centenary of St. Clare and so it was named as Clara Bhavan.

            From the very beginning, participating in all the activities of the Parish, the sisters are there for the all round development and the spiritual growth of the people of God. Teaching in the St. Mary's LP School they are trying to improve the standared of the school. They visit all the families of the parish in order to study their real condition and to help them sincerely in their needs and problems. This convent and the five sisters here work as the indispensable factor of the parish.
