There were sisters from the beginning of this institute which was in the Vallichira village, known as 'Ashanilayam Social service Centre' and it was directly under the province but it was raised to canonical House in 1994. Here there was a free nursery and a dispensary for a long time.
    Now it is an institution (Ashanilayam) for differently abled girls. 20 children, who are physically handicapped, mentally retarded and poor, are looked after here. For them stitching, candle making, curry powder making are done here. These handicrafts help the children to have mental and intellectual growth, combined work and income, candidates, who are in formation come and serve here for a certain period of time as a part of their formation. In the chapel here there is adoration intercessory prayer. Many come seeking the prayer of these poor children, who pray fervently and with innocent hearts. People also request for 13 hrs. adoration for their intentions.
    Besides the service here the sisters here teach catechisms  in Lalam Puthenpalli parish and actively participate in prayer meetings and house visits. Now there are 5 sisters and 18 inmates here.
